I've had a kitchenaid mixer for about 4 years, and just recently the second transmission that I've gone through has started making strange noises. Due to the mixer being out of warranty I called their customer service number hoping that they'd understand my frustration and offer to repair or replace it for free as I've already had transmission problems in the past. They didn't. Instead they gave me the number of a local service place and told me I'd have to food the bill. I paid $300 for this mixer because I was under the impression that it was a quality product that would last me a long time. I will certainly not be replacing this mixer (when it dies soon) with another Kitchenaid product. I'll spend a little more and buy a well-built viking product.Get more detail about
