I had not used the Kitchen Aid Artisan before I purchased it, but had seen many cooks use it on TV. No other mixer I have used comes close to this one. It will mix up whipped cream in just a few minutes, other mixers I have used take 10 minutes or so. With the way the mixer head rotates, you don't have to do anything except maybe scrape the bowl a few times. I made cookie dough with no problem, my old mixer would overheat on thick products like cookie dough and potatoes.
