I also own an Osterizer Kitchen Center after 25+ years of use along with experiencing the motor's irregular speed fits. And also, envious of the KitchenAid reputation decided on this product 4 years ago. I very rarely use it and am thankful for my standby Oster and a Sunbeam handmixer I may have to replace soon. The KitchenAid never fully mixes the stuff on the bottom, it is difficult to scrape the sides besides having to take the time to mix the bottom, and forget trying to whip up Dream Whip topping. The motor seems to be louder and more annoying than any other appliance I have and my husband and visitors have asked, "Do they all sound like that?" But, I have talked to other owners of the smaller KitchenAid Mixers who are quite happy with the results.
