I got the Artisan about a month ago. Just in time for the holidays. I've made an untold number of cookie batches already and no matter what I throw at it, the mixer handles it beautifully. I got it with the Mixer Bible. It just makes sense to spend the extra $13.00 since it's such a great intro to the machine. The book gives all kinds of helpful tips and over 300 great recipes.
