I love this mixer. It makes making bread from scratch so much easier! The only problem I've seen with it so far is in using the kneading attachment. Once when the mixer was kneading dough, it scraped on the bottom and exposed the metal on the attachment. I ended up with a metal dusting in the dough. But that only happened once, and I've used it at least 5 - 10 times so far. I think it happened because the dough was too stiff for the mixer to crank properly. When that happens, you just have to turn it off, take the dough off the kneader, and turn it back on. I should also mention that I was making two loaves at once. It might not have happened with one loaf worth of dough.
Other than that one problem, it has been great to use! I've used the other two attachments it comes with with no problems. The mixer itself is VERY heavy, which is nice because you know it won't move around or fall very easily. The Cobalt Blue is just beautiful. It is nice and shiny and easy to clean. I just use 409 and paper towels to clean and polish. If the bowl dries with water spots, just wipe it with a paper towel to polish, and it will be good as new again. It saves time on kneading, as well. Usually if a cookbook says to knead something by hand, I just put it in the mixer for half the time.
Overall, I recommend this product to anyone who needs to save time on mixing and kneading. I actually bought it because kneading dough causes my carpal tunnel to flare up. Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.
