I have always wanted a kitchen-aid stand mixer, but never wanted to invest that much money. I've been using a cheaper sunbeam mixer for several years now. About a week before I was going to do my Christmas baking, I found the Kitchen Aid mixer on Amazon for $199 with free shipping! How could I pass that up? Some colors were more, but I liked the blue, anyway. Why would the price vary so much depending on color? The cheapest were at $199, the most expensive at 299! Anyway, on to the review... It can handle double batches of cookies and banana bread with ease - no overflows like the last mixer. I've done pizza dough a couple of times and my family says it's the best ever! (The machine kneads the dough much better than I could ever do by hand.) Clean up is so quick and easy. It is a heavy little bugger, so anyone with back issues should leave it on the counter! I have very little counter space, so I put it on a shelf when not in use. It's only about 25lbs, but it's not something my grandmother would carry around! I would highly recommend it to anyone that likes to bake a lot.
