As a kid I remember making whipped cream with a Kitchenaid stand mixer. My mother used that machine several times a week to make dough, batters, etc. Many things changed over the years, furniture, different kitchen gadgets, even the family car....but the mixer stood like an icon on the kitchen counter. It was white originally and gradually faded into a pale yellowish from age. But the color was the ONLY thing that faded. It always worked. My new mixer has a long tradition of quality and from everything I see...they just made it better, not something that happens often today. Come to think of it, I've never seen one of these mixers that didn't work. Anyone know where the old one's go?
