Do not be mislead, this mixer does not resemble a Hobart, except externally. This is not the mixer that Kitchen Aid earned it's reputation on. We tried three of these things before we learned that. We had had a Kitchen Aid (then made by Hobart) for over 25 years before it was killed. It worked great right up until the day it died. It was an accident. We had been so pleased with the old one that we tried three of these before we figured this was not the mixer we were looking for went looking elsewhere.

When I finally decided to purchase a mixer I always knew it would be a KitchenAid. I couldn't believe the price! Only the red was on sale but I didn't care. I'm leaving it on my counter top it looks so nice. Purchase the 5 quart bowl or larger - worth it. I used it right out of the box to make my famous cheesecake. So easy to use. Quick and batter came out better than I could have imagined. I'm sorry I waited so long to purchase.
