Wow, I was surprised at how much I would love a kitchen appliance.

I can't speak to durability as I just recently bought mine, but I can speak to ease of use & function. Oh, and the glossy red color looks nicer than in the photo.

The attachments are very easy to use & clean. 2 of the 3 blades are dishwasher safe, as is the mixing bowl.

In the first four days of use, I'd made homemade whipped cream, a cake, yeast rolls, and a cheese filling for wontons. It worked better than I could have hoped.

I have very little counter space, so I put it on a shelf when not in use. It's only about 25lbs, but it's not something my grandmother would carry around! I would highly recommend it to anyone that likes to bake a lot. I purchased the Artisan before my Christmas baking for the increased power and bowl size over the KitchenAid Classic which I have had for well over 10 years. I immediately had to adjust the height of the beaters (which is supposed to be preset at the factory) because they were scraping the bottom of the bowl. This didn't work. I had already given my daughter my Classic so I was desperate for a good mixer. I took it to a repair shop to have a new bolt added because it was broken on the mixer I had ordered. I figured it would have taken a long time to send it off and receive a replacement.
