We've had this mixer in red color now for over 3 months and is going well. Its not just for deserts, but for mixing all sorts of things and the dough mixing capability is just great for home made unleavened bread. Clean up is simple and construction appears solid.

This mixer is only okay. It has a VERY limited range of function. It's quite perfect if you're cooking for 12 and making 6 pounds of something. If you have a family of 3 or 4 and are making the typical dinner where you are whipping up something small, this thing is way beyond overkill. The bowl is too deep and the beaters don't reach the bottom, hence my statement that you need to make 6 pounds of something. The first time I used it, the switch sprang back to the "on" position when I turned it off. I thought I'd fumbled it,so I made no notice of it. Didn't have occasion to use it again for about six weeks, when I discovered that this actually happens MOST of the time. That's right, you turn the mixer off, go to reach into the bowl, and the paddle is cranking again, ready to amputate your finger!

Went to the website, and discovered that the "return window" was only a month long...I would be charged a 15% restocking fee and would have to pay shipping both ways. So I'm stuck with this defective, dangerous mixer. I have to unplug it when I'm done mixing with it and I can't let the children (9 and 13) use it for fear that they will injure themselves!
