KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red

This mixer is one quality machine! Most people use the phrase "built like a tank" to describe it, and there's a lot of truth in that. It's the Volvo of stand mixers. It will probably outlast you! I love my mixer and have had no problems whatsoever with it. I'm so glad I bought it. It seemed frivolous at the time even though it was on sale, but it has served me well. This makes cooking so easy, you will throw out your hand mixer!

You have to be careful to wash and dry the metal attachments immediately, otherwise they discolor. While the stand mixer is pictured with a "pouring shield", there was no pouring shield in the box with my mixer. I'm sure I could have complained to Kitchen Aid and they would have sent one out immediately, but I really didn't buy the mixer for the pouring shield. I have been able to live quite happily without it.

Also, for the reviewer that was having problems getting the paddle to reach the ingredients at the bottom of the bowl: If you tilt the mixer head back, there is a screw at the crook there. If you tighten the screw the paddle moves up, loosen it and it will move down. This will allow you to adjust the paddle to reach the bottom of the work bowl. Good luck!Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red Review

The photo of the caviar mixer does not show the true color. The actual color is a dark glossy gray with small metallic pieces (resembling glitter) mixed in. (I am returning it for a solid color).Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red Top Quality

My husband got me this mixer for christmas this year. I received it yesterday and put it to work. It worked like a dream. I just love it. No more standing there with a hand mixer wishing I could reach something I needed. My mother has had one for a few years and she just loves hers too. She bakes almost everyday and uses her KITCHENAID. It is worth the money(I GOT MINE ONSALE HERE AT AMAZON).Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

Thank God for Kitchenaids 'No Hassle' warrenty. Our first delivery of the Artisian was disappointing, it was horribly noisy in the first two speeds. A quick call to Kitchenaid had a replacement on our door within a week. The second one shared the same grinding gear noise. The third replacement is on it way now. Kitchenaid's customer service listened to both mixers and agreed that some thing was wrong. Will try the third one and then shop for another brand.Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red Immediately

It is available cheaper as "Reconditioned" in some stores.

Just find it on sale on a holiday and you can save about $50!
After Christmas sales have it marked down from $299 to $230!!!

Hi.
I have always like the "look" of theese mixers, but couldn't bring myself to spending the money for a mixer. I mean, I had a handheld one that worked fine for $10.00 from Target!
Well, my husband got it for me this year for Christmas, and I now agree with everything Ive heard.
I mix more stuff than I thought!
The main beauty of it I didn't realise is that it gives you
TWO MORE HANDS!!!!
It continually mixes, (all around the bowl) while you go get eggs from the fridgs, grab the baby, whatever you normally would have to turn the blender/mixer off to go do.
You know those recapies that say, mix well for 5 minutes? Who really does that? I never mix enough, and my pancakes have a bit of flour in them, my cookins uneven dough to chips ratio, whatever. You get my point, it could mix all day if you like.
I really love the attachments IT COMES with that has a splatter shield with a little slide to pour the ingredients down. It is great, and it really does mix thouroughlly!
I am very pleased, and it is strong! I make cabbage soup (yes the diet) and I was able to leave itmixing on low while I added all the ingredients, it didn't get stuck or clogged up once!
Really helpful to us moms that need our other two hands to do everything else! (ha ha)
Good luck, and the only difference I think I would change is I would have gotten white, because I know my kitchen won't be red forever, but I hear everyone uses theese things for MANY years!

Thanks!Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red Best Quality

I have always wanted one. They are such a beautiful piece of equipment. I decided upon the imperial gray, it is a great color that doesn't show fingerprints or smears because of the non-shiny finish. Amazon's service was great and very fast, as always. But my complaint is that my mixer was not mixing all the way on the sides and bottom so we adjusted the screw like recommended and it took care of the mixing on the bottom but it still doesn't mix the sides very well. I do not like that you cannot reach inside the bowl to scrape unless you lift the top and then you still have to reach around the beater. I preferred the Oster stand mixer that I had for years because it had a large, wide bowl that spun. You could scrape as it mixed. I wish I had gotten the Sunbeam Heritage instead which has the shallow, wide bowls, comes with 2 different sizes. I could have saved money too.Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red Get it now!

I bought this mixer as "refurbished," and saved some bucks. It comes with the burnished steel flat beater and dough hook, as opposed to the painted ones. I learned too late that only the painted attachments are dishwasher safe! Now the hook and beater are a dark mottled color. Still work fine, just needed to be well scrubbed to get the dark residue off. That'll teach me to read the manual first.

One reviewer expressed disappointment in some gears of the mixer being nylon, and getting stripped out. My dealer told me that a number of the parts inside are "sacrificial," that is, small inexpensive parts are designed to fail before large expensive parts do. This is a good thing! Think of it the same way as the crumple zones in your car's body. They get crushed, so you don't.

I've used the mixer to make bread, and it came out perfect. I made pancake batter this morning, and the flat beater mixed all the way down to the bottom of the bowl just as it is supposed to. If yours doesn't, use the adjuster screw. The splash guard is misnamed-- its main purpose is to give you a chute for adding material. Some splashing will still occur, but to be fair the manual says the splash guard "reduces" splashing, not eliminates it.

A note on refurbished models; I was assured that they are demos and trade show displays, not warranty returns. No mixer that has been sold to a consumer will show up later as refurbished. I don't know what they do with the warranty returns.

You'll have this mixer a long time, so get the model you really want and the color you can live with for 20+ years. I love mine, and my once-skeptical wife is now a believer too.Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.
