I received my KitchenAid stand mixer as a housewarming gift three years ago and I don't think a week goes by when I don't use it. I use it for EVERYTHING, but it has especially helped me to improve my baking. I've had my KitchenAid mixer for a couple of years and can say that it has been reliable and a great asset to the kitchen.

I deducted one star because it can be aggravating to scrape the bowl during mixing. The deep, narrow bowl means you have to turn the mixer off and lift the head to scrape around the bowl. And be sure to scrape around the bottom because the shape of the bottom of the bowl can leave some unmixed batter if you don't scrape. There is a screw that can be adjusted if you are experiencing too much unmixed batter on the bottom.

If you do any mixing or whipping more than just occasionally then you are sure to love a KitchenAid mixer. If you make a cake from a mix just a few times a year then a hand mixer would be a more affordable choice but for anything more, you'll love a stand mixer and of course, KitchenAid has become the standard for stand mixers in the everyday kitchen.
