I purchased this mixer in May of 2008 and have been using it almost weekly since then. I have never been an avid baker but after making a cake completely from scratch for my husband's birthday using my old hand mixer I realized that it was worthless. I decided to take the plunge and purchase this mixer and have absolutely no regrets. Now I bake something new on a weekly basis and LOVE making bread, rolls, cakes, etc. from scratch. The dough hook does all the work for you and makes bread making enjoyable and it doesn't take nearly as long.
