Very well made machine. First off let me say that all KitchenAide mixers I have been around are head and shoulders above the rest but there are a few things you need to look for. This model gives you a larger motor than several of the department store look-alike models. Compare the wattage carefully and don't go just on price and looks. My personal preference is for the tilt head model. There is also a model that raises the bowl instead of the tilt head but to me these are awkward to use.
