After using a Sunbeam Mixmaster for 28 years, I bought another one to replace it, only to find that they "don't make them like they used to". The motor burnt out within 18 months. That's when I bought my KitchenAid Artisan. I LOVE it! It's very sturdy and the motor feels like it will last forever. It mixes well and I find the parts easy to handle, easy to wash. The only drawback I can find is that there isn't much room to insert ingredients into the bowl once the machine is operational. I have the chute, which I use, but would prefer more space between the bowl and the motor head. Also, it's a bit heavy for me to drag across the counter, but that's what makes it so sturdy.
