I have had my mixer for 8 years. I use it about 2 or 3 times a week depending on what's cooking / baking in my kitchen. My mom has had her mixer for over 20+ years now and still going. I highly recommend this mixer and other product by kitchenaid. The company has great replacement / repair policies if you do experience and difficulties with your purchase.
