I watch Food Network all the time and let's face it, EVERY chef on that show uses Kitchenaid mixers so that's endorsement enough for me. I wanted to upgrade from my 12 year old Kitchenaid Classic since with almost anything I mixed the pin that holds the base to the top would jiggle its way out from the vibrations and it always seemed to struggle with relatively workable dough (like oatmeal raisin cookie). I was considering the Professional series but decided the footprint was too large for my kitchen (it would be difficult to store), and the reviews didn't sound resoundingly positive enough for me. The footprint of the Artisan series is almost identical to the Classic, but with more power at a good price. I would give this 4.5 stars, but not 5 because it still vibrates a little more than I'd like with heavier doughs. Overall I haven't had any problems at all with it. But for me, the real selling point was the larger bowl with the handle and the pouring shield (SUCH A LUXURY!). I don't know if this is the right product for ultra serious bakers, but for the typical, everyday user, it's definitely worth it. As for Amazon as a seller, I've NEVER had a problem with them (and choose it over other sellers on Amazon, actually). But I've had problems with Kitchenaid rebates in the past, and the streak continued with this one as well (no matter how many times I mail them in, they never seem to have them in their system so you REALLY have to follow up on them constantly).Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.
