Until recently, I have been using the same mixer for 20 years. I had no complaints, it worked well for me all those years, until one day it could no longer take the strain of mixing any longer. Many friends and family members own a kitchenaid and are extremely happy with theirs. I have to say, so am I. I didn't know baking was so easy! No more scraping sides of the bowl with a spatula to help mix ingredients! The Kitchenaid does it all. I have the artisan with the plastic pour spout/ mixing shield. The way my 12 year old dumps in the flour, I have alot less of a mess to clean up when we are done.
