I've been wanting one of these forever, and I kept borrowing my best friend's stand mixer, but it gets heavy! You can check around, but you can't beat the value here. I found cheaper pricing in some places, but when you look closely, they are for refurbished models or they don't included shipping, and you don't know where they're coming from. Plus, you really have to check out all the models and accessories that it comes with. The one I ordered came straight from KitchenAid, and I was happy with free shipping, since it's such a heavy item. I had originally purchased one for my mother-in-law, but I was so happy with the deal, that I got one for myself too. This is the best price I've found for the Artisan Series, too. Even ebay prices aren't as good, when you figure in shipping and handling.
