After years of wanting the convenience of a stand mixer, I got a KitchenAid Artesian 5 qt. It doesn't mix the product at the bottom or sides of the bowl. You have to turn the mixer off, lift the beater, remove the bowl, then mix by hand to ensure proper mixing. I also have the pouring attachment; I'd advise not wasting your $$ on this one. There's not enough room to add ingredients without making a mess, and the plastic pieces come apart too easily.
