Wow - I've recently begun cooking and felt I had to have this mixer after burning out two hand mixers. It's now my new best friend. The first thing I tried was a "jar" cookie recipe where everything (eggs, butter, flour & chips) are all thrown together at once. It didn't even bat an eye - just mixed it all up like nobody's business.
I must confess it took some time to get used to locking the tilting head - when you don't the poor thing jumps and dances all over the counter. I couldn't believe something so simple made a huge difference.
It comes with a few recipes (I tried the chocolate pound cake - yum). Cleaning is a snap - I would like to get an extra bowl, though.
The only draw back is it's difficult to add ingredients while it's mixing. I haven't tried the pouring shield yet but I'm betting it will help.Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.
