I did a lot of research on the web before I bought this Artisan model mixer. After looking at the various models on many different websites, I think the Artisan model is the best value. Unless you're in the catering business, the 325 watt motor and 5 quart bowl are completely sufficient for everyday needs. Although the models that lift the motor instead of tilting it back are more expensive, I think the tilt is more desirable as it's easier to add ingredients. Basically, you get a lot of power, capacity, and design for a reasonable price.
