I haven't been an enthusiastic cook for many years, until I got this mixer. Suddenly, I am Martha Stewart on a bender. Quiches, pasta, bread, meatloaf, Sweet potato pie, squash soup and things I can't even recollect, I seek to produce. It's fun again!
My complaint? things happen too fast! I don't get a chance to really give my artisan, with the pasta maker kit, a chance to break a sweat!
I wish there were more things that needed mixing. It's currently residing at my fiance's house where he swears that it looks depressed in my absence. I covet ALL POSSIBLE attachments.

I LOVE this mixer! It works really well and looks great in my kitchen. The only little thing that is not great is that you often have to scrape the bottom of the bowl and mix again since the mixer won't reach to the very bottom. But that's no big deal--it takes a few seconds. Prior to owning this mixer, I had an old Sunbeam. It was nearing its end of use and I always wanted a Kitchenaid so I kept my eye out for a good sale. And then I couldn't believe my eyes--Amazon was selling this mixer for $179. What a great deal! So I ordered it immediately. Since receiving it, I have been thoroughly pleased with it. I use it mostly for my cookie recipes, but I made mashed potatoes with it a few days ago--my old mixer could have never handled this task. I really like the weight of it, no matter the speed, this mixer stays put. The plastic guard is pretty crucial too--the sheer power of this thing tends to send the food upward in the bowl, but the guard keeps everything from making a mess. I haven't used it to make dough yet, but so far, it seems to be able to handle just about anything. The only problem I find is that I think the bowl should be a bit wider.
