I absolutely love this machine. It works perfectly great to make dough, whip cream, and more. I got the machine at Amazon because I saved lots of money. The retail price at stores is $299.99 and I got it for $169.99 (Price was $199.00 and signing up for a amazon card takes off $30.00). Not only did I save money for a great machine but I'm enjoying everything I can make with it. I definitely recommended. This machine will give you the opportunity to enjoy baking again. The only upside down about the machine is that it is heavy. I recommend that you just leave it on your kitchen counter that way you won't have to haul it around. However, it is not so heavy as that it is impossible to be carry. I'm a very petite 4'10" woman and I'm able to pick it up. Another advice is that if you do not leave it on your kitcken counter is that you should always carry it by the base of the machine to prevent any accidents. I had to chime in and say that the past year I have had my mixer has been a GREAT year in the kitchen. We eat out less because whipping up meals (excuse the pun) are much easier with this baby ready to do the work. Pizza dough in no time, dinner rolls, sweet baked goods, creaming butter, whipping eggs, etc. You really save your elbow grease and a lot of time with one of these.

I highly recommend!

BTW, check out the photo forum -- the blue flames painted on the white mixer is about the coolest thing I have seen in a kitchen! Nice work to that guy :)

First off, why do people use the product review system here to post reviews on their poor shipping experience, that UPS thrashed the box, they got a rare/obviously defective one, or Amazon's service had a problem? Please - it has nothing to do with the actual product. It makes no sense and helps nobody.

Anyway, I got my cobalt blue mixer 3 years ago, purchased thru Amazon. I've used it many many times, for - bread, cookies, mashed potatoes, cakes, you name it! The motor is strong, the paddle/whisk/hook are easy to switch and clean, and the engineering of the bowl & agitator assembly movement really makes the most of the mixing. I never shy away from using it because of the cleaning, because whatever comes out is always totally worth it.

The KitchenAid brand was created by Hobart who manufactured the equipment for years until selling out to Whirlpool in 1986. Like many of you, you are probably here because your folks had a KA mixer that lasted for 25 years and now its your turn. If you want the mixer your parents had, check out the Hobart N50 ... still made in Ohio I believe. Its expensive .. $1600 ...

.. but then so is replacing your KitchenAid every three years, if it lasts that long.
