Save KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red

It was yuck at first sight when I first crossed paths with a Kitchenaid stand mixer in a cooking class. There's something about the aesthetics that really bug me about this machine and I bought a food processor and an immersion blender for a total of $220 to avoid the need for this type of machine. And if I was going to get this type of machine, I had decided I would get a non Kitchenaid with a glassbowl and less repulsive looking head or an Electrolux assistant if I became some kind of bread maker.

I bought this because
(1) my kitchenaid food processor would hop when mixing bread dough (one cup of flour!)
(2) $167.11 is a good price even though red, blue and black were the only colors - I knew that this machine would be useful to me
and the real reason
(3) the electic pasta extruder would help me make chinese dough recipes from Eileen Yin-Fei Lo's cookbooks

My family is happy expecting better breads and other goodies but all I want are homemade dumpling wrappers and super flattened Northern Chinese breads. But this machine means I will now be able to make lump free (ew) cream cheese frosting for cupcakes and cream butter with sugar or eggs by machine rather than manually.

I would never have gotten this at its regular $300 price or even at $200 but the double promo discounts pushed the price close to a cheaper but poorly rated Sunbeam and I really wanted the pasta extruder. Sigh. If I end up loving this machine, I will have to amend this review. The red matches my knife block and my isi soda siphon and cream whipper and I cleared a space for it on my counter just as if I really wanted this machine all along and as if red not white or wasabi is the color for me. I don't have to see the side profile of the machine from where it is placed and I have the other red items grouped around it so it's one bunch of red that the mixer doesn't lock the eyes.

It's not as gigantic as the one I remember from the cooking school which was the original design. This bowl has a flat bottom so it can rest on the counter. I was scolded for not paying $400 for the Professional model but this one has planetary motion and I still don't believe that these machines are worth their suggested retail prices. The sale supposed to be through tomorrow but I see that only the Cobalt Blue is still available at this special price.

This not that big but somewhat heavy machine was delivered in its original box without an extra brown box to protect it. I found it in the rain; the box can't be kept and the machine did get wet. There's really nothing included in the box to reflect what a heavy decision this mixer purchase is to many people - no leather bound manual or ceremonious unpacking process. It came with the small hooks (everything was smaller than I expected), the whisk must be hand washed(!), there is the registration card and a brief trilingual manual and some recipes. I also got a complimentary packet of Splenda which I will discard unopened.

p.s. with the bowl removed, the machine in profile casts a shadow that looks exactly like H.R. Geiger's AlienGet more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

Discount KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red

My fiance decided to get me this KitchenAid mixer for Christmas this year. It arrived early, so he's been letting me make Christmas goodies with it. I have never made chewier, moist cookies! My recipe has always been praised, but this machine transformed them!

I also made French bread from scratch! Who knew I'd ever make bread? It's delicious and couldn't have been easier with this machine.

Other things I've already made (it's only been a week!) is moist, very well-mixed meatloaf, banana bread, and amazing pizza dough - the recipe included in the manual.

It's addictive! I want to use my machine everyday. Clean up is so easy that it's worth it too!

I think everyone should have a KitchenAid mixer at some point in their lives - your kitchen experience will change immediately for the better.Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

Cheap KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red

This seems to be the best stand mixer and is sort of a staple in any cook's kitchen. Honestly I don't think I've ever heard of another brand's stand mixer being mentioned. I haven't tested various stand mixers but I think my KitchenAid 5-quart is awesome. It mixes well at various speeds. I don't think it's missing anything or needs any sort of improvement - as far as I can tell after baking a couple of pies and a cake. If you love to cook (which I do, and have recently developed an interest in baking) then you need this. I think every cook needs this stand mixer. If you're bothering to read these reviews for this item, I would think that means you're seriously considering buying it. Let me tell you that this is the stand mixer to get, so go ahead and get it. Go on, go ahead and get it. The sooner you order it, the sooner you'll have it and will be able to make all sorts of dishes and desserts:)Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

Buying KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red

A week before Christmas I began making dozens of cookies. My old $19.00 mixer started its usual grind in not wanting to finish the project. Alas, it gave up the ghost and I told my hubby I was going to get another one after the holidays. Lo and behold, I received the KitchenAid mixer for Christmas. I am delighted and tried it on Christmas day making the chocolate cream puffs in the recipe book. I LOVE THIS MACHINE!!! It doesn't howl, grind, groan, moan or any of the other sounds emitting from an "el-cheap-o" mixer. The attachments are easy to use with a snap in and twist mechanism. The stainless steel bowl locks in with ease and the handle is balanced properly for easily handling. There is a flour guard for placement over the bowl to keep the dry ingredients from flying all over the place. All the directions are easy to follow, i.e., care and cleaning. If any of you are like me in purchasing a cheap product...STOP...STOP...STOP! Invest in this mixer because you won't be disappointed. Even though it may be costly, it will pay for itself in the long run. It's a gem, an absolute gem!Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

Buy KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red

I received this mixer from my Mom and Stepdad for Christmas this year after torturing my family about it for months. I was just gonna go out and buy it myself, but I am glad I didn't since it means alot more coming from them. Anyways, I opened it yesterday and christened it this morning with a fresh loaf of banana bread. Just came out of the oven and other than overbaking it (my personal style of burning everything!) it is perfect. I found this mixer to be very easy to use, little mess to speak of and fast clean up. Way better than having 3 different mixing bowls going at one time with a hand mixer that has been wanting to kick out for the last year! I am in no way shape or form a good chef, but somehow I think this baby will change that! Enjoy!Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.

Purchase KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red

I have been wanted this mixer for a few years now, but have always had some excuse not to get it.... takes up too much space, overkill, too much money, etc. But this year I told my husband I wanted the Red Artisan instead of jewelry for Christmas. He thought I was nuts. I went and picked it out to be sure I got the one I had been dreaming of for so long. I thought I'd need a lot of time to figure everything out, but it was so simple to set up and get going. Christmas Night I got it out of the box and washed it all up and put it in its permanent spot on my counter (I did find the room). It was all ready for me this morning to make a cheesecake for a family dinner tonight. It went through 4 blocks of cream cheese like nobody's business. I'm glad I finally got this time-saving machine and quit making excuses of why not to get one. I'm sure I'll enjoy using this for many years to come. (P.S. I still got jewelry for Christmas!)Get more detail about KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red.
