Wow - I've recently begun cooking and felt I had to have this mixer after burning out two hand mixers. It's now my new best friend. The first thing I tried was a "jar" cookie recipe where everything (eggs, butter, flour & chips) are all thrown together at once. It didn't even bat an eye - just mixed it all up like nobody's business.

I must confess it took some time to get used to locking the tilting head - when you don't the poor thing jumps and dances all over the counter. I couldn't believe something so simple made a huge difference.

It comes with a few recipes (I tried the chocolate pound cake - yum). Cleaning is a snap - I would like to get an extra bowl, though.

I have used a Sunbeam stand mixer for over 20 years. Too bad I didn't get a Kitchen Aide in the begining. My Artisan handles the stiffest dough as if it were whipping cream. I enjoy the tilt head and have no trouble using a spatula to scrape down the sides (while the machine is OFF). It's amazing how "she" can cream cold butter, or whip potatoes in a flash. The 5 quart bowl easily handles the double or triple batches of cookie dough.
