We received this mixer as a wedding gift from my godmother - We weren't registered for it and thought we had no use for it. When we received it, of course I was excited because my kitchen is red and I thought it would be fun to have and display and use every now and then. Well, I started using it for random things - like mashing potatoes, cookies, even tapas and bean dips. I was so excited that I try to make something with this mixer at least once a week - I bought "The Mixer Bible" cookbook and actually search for recipes that I can do solely in the mixer. I've ordered the shredder and grinder attachments - so I'm looking forward to receiving that - and I also have the ice cream maker - which is so much fun!

The Kitchen Aid Artisan 5-QT mixer is everything we have been led to expect. Hey guys, I use it more then my wife does! It is wonderful for our home bread making and pastry output, as well as conveniently providing the quick means for making large batches of dog biscuits for our three large canines. While a 12-cup unit combined with a tilt head mechanism may have been more desirable to allow larger batch productivity, the 9-cup unit is generally fine for our daily needs. Thus, this Kitchen Aid model used along with a good grain milling machine is an awesome combo for any family's kitchen in these unsure times. At least, this is the route we have taken. Jim.

Absolutely love this mixer- compared to an old 1960's vintage mixmaster, this mixer is easy to use, easy to clean, thoroughly mixes all ingredients, even heavy cookie dough. Makes baking much easier.

The only thing to comment on is the way the product was delivered/shipped by Amazon. The box was not packaged well, and was easily cut/scraped and a hole in box when received. I honestly do not know how anyone would ever bake without this wonderful mixer. While it is a little heavy (26 pounds), once you find a permanent home for it on the counter, it will work just as beautifully as it looks! This was actually a present for my wife and honestly she has made more delicious treats in the past 2 weeks than she has in the 6 years we have known each other because it makes baking so much easier.
