Until recently, I have been using the same mixer for 20 years. I had no complaints, it worked well for me all those years, until one day it could no longer take the strain of mixing any longer. I've wanted one of these bad boys for a long time and when I saw the great price on Amazon I asked my boyfriend if he would get me one for Christmas. His response? I will only buy you an appliance for Christmas if you absolutely want it and request it. Done. So far I've used it a few times (I opened my gift early... oops!) and I love it! And I'm so looking forward to whipping up several batches of bread, cookies, and other goodies with this powerful machine! I would've given it 5 stars except that it arrived with some sort of gray, sticky residue on the top which I have yet to figure out how to remove. Of course this is a minor detail which in no way affects the overall performance of the machine, but it is disappointing to buy a brand new appliance and have it arrive covered in schmutz.
