This mixer is beautiful. I got the cobalt blue one and I love it. As far as the functionality of it goes, I would rate it at about a 3. The reasons are:

1. When I doubled a recipe I have for chocolate chip cookies, the mixer got
very hot and I worried about the motor seizing up.

2. Filling it is a bit cumbersome.

3. Because of the configuration of the bowl, you need to stop and scrape

This is a really great mixer. It is very powerful and mixes the thicker, stiffer doughs and batters very well. The coating on the dough hook and the paddle beater make cleanup easy. I found the splatter guard was nice to keep things in the bowl but I didn't like the slot in it that you use to pour ingredients into the bowl. LOVE LOVE LOVE this mixer. After using a Sunbeam for years (and it was still a good mixer), I am still amazed at how easily this mixer handles large or heavy amounts of ingredients. Cakes are a BREEZE! Icing is no longer a chore - this mixer will handle more than one batch with no problem. I personally haven't made bread yet - my mom has the same mixer and she said she can make dough with her Kitchen Aid without a hitch.
