I had been searching and researching these mixers for a couple of months and had hoped to get one for Christmas from the family. But when it came up on my gold box specials, I couldn't resist and bought it myself. Keep checking amazon daily, with my new amazon visa and the deal they offered that day along with free shipping, it was an unbelievable.

Now for the artisan mixer, I received it a couple of days ago and have had wonderful things come from it. I love the tilt head and think the professional ones are way to big for your regular non-pro cook. The artisan fits and looks great under my counter. The cookies have a beautiful texture to them and the mixer mixes them with no problem, quieter than I imagined it could be (family can still hear the TV without turning the volume up). Also my mashed potatoes were heavenly, only had to use 1/2 cup of milk in them, they are so light and fluffy, not heavy or sticky.

My son laughed when he saw I bought the majestic yellow. He knew I always wanted a yellow corvette car. He said, "looks like you settled for a yellow mixer mom". I've always looked at these longingly at the stores. I've wanted one of these just about forever. My wonderful Mom just bought me the artisan in Empire Red for a Housewarming gift. I absolutely love it. I bought kitchen curtains in red to match. I hate to have appliances sit on my counter. I even put my coffee pot away after use everyday. But this mixer...is an art form...it is beautiful and it sits on my counter (I smile at it several times a day)and if anything needs to be mixed I use it. Today I used it to make meat loaf.(so nice to not have to stick my hands in there). My kids even get excited when I use it. I love to bake and I'm looking forward to the holidays.

I bought this mixer for my wife recently. She absolutely loves it. The machine is gorgeous, and works great. We have used it for making dough, cookies, brownies, and frosting so far. I've always wanted my wife to own one of these. Like
Air Streams, Unisaws and Hasselblads, Kitchen Aids are at top
in their class. This machine weighs a lot, takes up one square
foot of counter space and the red paint looks like it's 6 inches
thick. The Kitchen Aid simply looks too nice to store under
the counter. Ladies, leave it out so that your girlfriends can
eat their hearts out. Whether its meat loaf, mashed potatoes,
pie mixes or anything else you can dump into its ample 5 quart
bowl, this sucker can whip it with ease.
Few machines work as well as they look. This red behemoth
is one of them. I bought her the can opener attachment from
Amazon last week. It's quite impressive looking sticking out
4 inches from the power hub. Just be careful that you don't
whack your elbow on it. I got the feeling that it could open a
55 gallon drum. I told her the rest of the attachments are on
her. Mind you, this is a woamn who hasn't baked in 31 years of

marriage. But when I pulled it out of the box and placed it on
the kitchen counter, she went nuts. She LOVES it!!!!!!
She wanted a red one so thats what we bought. It isn't cheap
but you get what you pay for. It should last a lifetime.

I bought it on December 4 from Appliances.com for two hundred eighteen dollars and ninety five cents plus twenty two dollars and sixty five cents for shipping for a total of two hundred forty one dollars and sixty cents. I found it today, Dec 8 on Amazon for one hundred ninety nine dollars and ninety nine cents. I have not recieved my mixer yet from Appliances.com. I called them and told them about Amazon's price and they said they do not honor price matching and gave me the TOUGH LUCK attitude. I wish I would have paid more from Amazon initially because I know that they would have refunded the difference in price. In customer service, amazon is always great. My own choice to save eight dollars cost me forty one dollars and sixty one cents. Customer Service makes a big difference. Do not purchase anything from Appliances.com. They are not honorable. After years of wanting the convenience of a stand mixer, I got a KitchenAid Artesian 5 qt. It doesn't mix the product at the bottom or sides of the bowl. You have to turn the mixer off, lift the beater, remove the bowl, then mix by hand to ensure proper mixing. I also have the pouring attachment; I'd advise not wasting your $$ on this one. There's not enough room to add ingredients without making a mess, and the plastic pieces come apart too easily.
